Delete Your Account

How to delete your account

You can delete your Your First Dance account and all associated personal data directly from within the iOS or Android app:

  1. Open the Your First Dance app
  2. Tap the Profile tab
  3. Tap Account Settings
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
  5. Type DELETE to confirm

What gets deleted permanently

  • Your authentication record (email, name, sign-in providers)
  • Your user profile (practice days, wedding date, onboarding progress, notification preferences)
  • Your lesson completion history and practice activity
  • Your purchase ownership record stored in our database

What is retained

  • Purchase transaction records held by Apple App Store or Google Play Billing — these payment processors manage their own records independently of our app
  • Anonymized, aggregated analytics that cannot be tied back to an individual user
  • Crash reports and performance logs that contain no personal identifiers

Retention period

All deletion requests are processed within 7 business days. Backup systems may retain residual copies for up to 30 days before being permanently overwritten.

Can't access the app?

Email support@yourfirstdance.net from the address tied to your account and we'll delete it within 7 business days.

Redeem a Website Purchase Code

If you purchased on yourfirstdance.net/offer, you'll receive a redemption code by email from orders@yourfirstdance.net. The code unlocks lifetime access in the app.

How to redeem

  1. Open the Your First Dance app on iOS or Android
  2. Sign in or create an account with the same email you used to check out
  3. On the welcome or paywall screen, tap “Got a redemption code?”
    (or once signed in: Profile → Account Settings → Redeem Code)
  4. Enter the code from your email and tap Redeem

Each code can only be redeemed once. If your code doesn't work or you didn't receive the email, contact support@yourfirstdance.net with your Stripe receipt.

Purchases & Receipts

Your First Dance is a one-time $99.99 lifetime purchase — no subscription, no recurring fees. You can buy through any of three channels:

  • iOS in-app — processed by Apple. Receipt arrives by email from Apple. View or restore via Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions & Purchases.
  • Android in-app — processed by Google Play. Receipt arrives by email from Google. View at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.
  • Website at yourfirstdance.net/offer — processed by Stripe. Receipt arrives by email from orders@yourfirstdance.net with a redemption code to enter in the app.

On iOS, use Account Settings → Restore Purchases if your purchase doesn't appear after signing in. On Android, ownership is synced automatically when you sign in.
